The Set-up:
Sector Nine 55" Luke Nosewalker Maple Deck
Revenge Alpha II Trucks
1/2" Risers
Bones Swiss Labyrinth Bearings
76mm Abec 11 Gumball 75A Wheels
The set-up is great; absolutely fantastic. This baby cruises and carves like a surfboard. Its the combination that makes it so fantastic. It is substantially less stable than it was with the big Tracker Dart Trucks (which are now on my '70 Retro Yellow Tunnel with 70mm Translucent Blue Tunnel Rocks 75A's - but that's another review; FAST, SMOOTH, SILENT ... INSANE), but the ride is an absolute Longboarders Dream.
I'm a middle aged cruiser, not a fearless young new-school thrasher, so I opted for the soft gumballs to deal with street cruising on the DECREPIT streets and sidewalks of Los Angeles. The road quality is practically, if not actually, third-world, with tons of cracks, potholes, repaves, and tons of debris . . . the kind stuff that's going to chuck you if you're using a smaller harder wheel. So I went soft gumball because I'm not looking to break traction or slide, but rather cruise and carve.
Abec-11 claims this wheel is designed to roll smoothly even on poor surfaces. Thats a big claim, but I find its quite accurate, and I'm rolling over some really bad surfaces.
I absolutely love these wheels. If you want good grip/traction, fast rolling, and not have to sweat every crack and bump in the road, then get yourself a set of these wheels and get rolling.
Everyone who's seen my set-up has freaked, and the look and feel of these wheels is a major part of it.
I love them. 5 Big Sticky Grippy Gumball Stars for the Abec 11 76mm Gumball 75As.
