The statement is accurate to a point, yes this board is a "cheap" introduction to Mountain Boarding, but be warned that this board has many limitations and those limitations can lead to some frustration which could cause some people to walk away from the sport only after a few runs down a hill. The maneuverability is poor at best, the breaking system is unnecessary even to the most novice of riders. The ATOM 95X is well made and is comfortable to ride, but its overall performance is suspect.
To be honest I would spend a little more money on a better performing board and your overall enjoyment will warrant the extra scratch you spent.
