(More customer reviews)I am a beginner to longboarding, living on a relatively-hilly college campus. I went into a local skateshop, and fortunately enough for me one of the employees was very knowledgeable about longboarding. If you are looking to primarily "cruise" on a college campus or similar environment, this board has been perfect for me thus far. It is not necessarily tailored for "bombing" (going down wild hills), but I have found it to take hills at a pretty impressive speed (compared to two of my friends whom also own different Sector 9 boards). The board is of a decent weight, turns pretty well for its length, and picks up speed pretty quickly. I have loved both cruising and taking steep hills on it, and it is also very durable; I have had to bail more than my fair share of times, watching my board crash into sidewalks, the wheels of cars, walls, etc. The board is pretty well made, as are the trucks, bearings, and wheels -- my only advice would be take your board to a local skate shop and have them make sure your bearings and trucks are screwed in properly and safely.
I would highly recommend this board for beginners. It is on the more expensive side, but you'll get your money's worth out of your board. Judging by what I've read on different forums and from a few of my more knowledgeable friends who skate, Sector 9 is a pretty solid company.
You'll have a great time with this board. Be sure to do your research and figure out what type of board is right for you (dimensions, length, shape, etc.), as good ones do not come cheap.
Safe riding!
